Come see the real Nepal |
Less than two hours from Kathmandu, lies this hidden valley. We have devised a short trek through the valley, staying at farms and village houses and sharing in the day to day lives of local people.
This trek is just six days long and is graded "easy". The walking between farms and villages is very liesurely and is suitable for families with small children' through to our more senior trekkers.
On the fourth day, we visit the local school where we spend a day helping the teachers with English lessons. Anyone who wishes can take a small group of students and share their knowledge of the English language with these happy and grateful children. A truly delightful and satisfying experience.
It is possible to spend several days here, or even weeks, helping out at the school. They are desparately short of teachers as funds for rural schools are very difficult to come by, so there are never enough teachers.
At the end of the village trek, it's back to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu for another night in your comfortable hotel and a hot shower.
Next morning, an early start and we drive to Chitwan National Park for a three day program of elephant riding, canoeing on the river, jungle safaris, elephant bathing, bird watching and cultural evenings with the local Tharu people.
All meals and activities are included in the package, as are all transport and accomodation costs.
In Chitwan, we stay in the comfortable Hotel Rainforest, which is set in its own expansive and beautifully landscaped gardens with many exotic species of trees, flowers and plants chosen to attract the many species of unusual and rare birdlife.
After the Chitwan adventures, we head once again back to Kathmandu where we spend the rest of the afternoon and evening. Next day is our last full day in the capitol where we can grab some last minute bargains and do our final sightseeing.
Next day we transport you back to the airport for your flights home.
